How Does This All Link?

Helping others stay covered, calm, and competitive.

I’m Mark, founder of Lynx Insurance Brokers. The name Lynx comes from one of the many helicopters I flew during my time in the Army. (The photo above shows me in a Gazelle, taken in Belize in the early 1990s.) The Lynx was a favourite – fast, reliable, and could handle a lot under pressure. That’s the kind of service I aim to deliver here.

I spent over 20 years as a helicopter pilot and instructor in the British Army, which taught me the value of high standards, straight answers and staying calm when things get busy. After the military, I followed my long-time passion for motorsport, something I’ve been involved with since the 1980s as a driver, navigator, organiser and club member.

Professionally, I’ve headed up two specialist motorsport insurance brokers, built new teams, launched products, and helped shape the kind of cover that actually works for drivers, teams, and organisers. I’m also a CII-certified broker, which means I know the technical side too and not just the rally stages.

Along the way, I’ve run the British Rally Championship, worked with brands like Tesco and Pirelli, and helped young drivers progress through initiatives like the Pirelli Star Driver scheme. But really, I just enjoy being part of the motorsport community and doing what I can to support it properly.

At Lynx, we offer no-nonsense, tailored insurance backed by real motorsport experience. Our logo icon of three interlocked links reflects the unbroken connection between what we value most: integrity, trust, and unity. (They even echo a mini racetrack – a nod to where we come from). Nothing flashy. Just doing the job well.
